The Crawford Hotel at Denver’s Union Station recently completed a significant renovation to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Designed by DLR Group and Sage Studio, the updated guestrooms seamlessly blend historic charm with modern luxury.
Due to a tight project schedule, this project had to forgo the standard model room phase, allowing only a factory review of prototypes before the start of production. This presented a unique manufacturing challenge, as each piece was incredibly detailed. The successful execution of the project required extensive collaboration between CF Kent, DLR Group, Sage Studio, and Benjamin West
SIDE TABLE: The original design intent included a hinged flip-down panel and carved marble base. Based on feedback from DLR and Sage Studio, the design went through several iterations, with the final design having a fixed top and resin faux-marble base.
WARDROBE: Inspired by Italian bespoke furniture, the Wardrobe required a careful balance of design, functionality, and durability. Ultimately, two prototypes were developed to achieve this balance, resulting in a beautiful and functional piece that enhances the overall guest experience.
Between the casegoods and seating, CF Kent developed seven wood finishes, six metal finishes, two different faux-stone resins, and an array of custom decorative hardware. The overall project schedule from start to finish took eight months to complete, including a prototype factory review in three months and production orders delivered within six months., You can learn more about this project and our process by downloading the Case Study deck.
